Not Medical Advice

I am not your doctor. Nobody here is.

The Threshold Protocol is education. You read it, you decide, you train on your own. It is not a diagnosis and it is not medical advice about your body. Nothing in this program is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, including osteoporosis and osteopenia.

Talk to your doctor before you start. Not as a formality. Bring the Doctor Briefing with you, it is written for exactly that conversation. If your doctor tells you not to do this, listen to your doctor and not to me.

Lifting heavy things carries real risk. Resistance training and impact training can cause muscle strains, joint pain, falls, and in rare cases a fracture. You accept that risk when you start. Section 3 of the Terms spells that out properly.

The screening is a filter, not a diagnosis. It asks eight questions and sorts you into one of three lanes. It cannot see your scan, read your chart, or look at your spine. It is set to be cautious on purpose, which means it will route some perfectly capable women away from the program. That is the trade I chose.

This is not the trial. The LIFTMOR trial (Watson, Weeks, Weis, Harding, Horan and Beck, 2018) put a trained supervisor next to every participant for every set. You have a phone and a screen. That gap is the whole reason for the four-week ramp, the RPE-based loading, the form gates and the screening. Do not treat this program as though it reproduces those conditions. It does not.

Stop and get seen if you feel sharp or sudden pain, chest pain, dizziness, or anything in your back that feels like a line rather than an ache.

Ticking the box below records the date and time you agreed to this. It means you have read it, you understood it, and you accept the risk.
